Movies for an InternAs an intern, there are days when you feel like an absolute superstar – everyone in the office praising you for your amazing work. And there are days when you are sulking and eating that favorite sandwich of yours alone – for the fifth time in the week or maybe, you are completely excluded from those not-so-cool office in-jokes.

So, as the summer internships are approaching and you just want to curl up on the couch dreading about your first day at the office or your boss’s expectation, here’s a list of films to give you that little bit of extra motivation to keep your energy and inspiration high – right from the start.

The Intern

The INTERN

70-year-old widower Ben Whittaker (Robert De Niro) has discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway). This 2015 heart-warmer will help you navigate any office or intern related issue.

Lessons to learn

See how the “senior” intern brings wisdom, experience, and balance into the frenetic workplace of an Internet startup. The movie also honors the energy and creativity of the Millennials who are driving today’s tech economy. Learn the integration of the best of both generations.

The Devil Wears Prada

A smart but sensible new graduate, Andrea (“Andy”) Sachs (Anne Hathaway) lands a job as an assistant to Miranda Priestly, (Meryl Streep) the demanding editor-in-chief of a high fashion magazine. The movie revolves around how Andy figures her way out to put up with Miranda’s excessively demanding and humiliating treatment for one year in hopes of getting a job as a reporter or writer somewhere else.

Lessons to Learn

Andy rushes into Runway thinking she’s better and more intellectual than most of the fashion freaks but bam! She gets shut down by Miranda in an epic monologue about blue belts and how they are much more than just being – blue belts. Andy learns that in life, sometimes you have to keep your head low, swallow your pride, and work your ass off to prove your worth, then you earn the right to be judgmental. And when you earn stuff like that, trust me! It’s way more fun.

The Pursuit of Happyness

Pursuit of Happyness

The story of a struggling salesman, Chris Gardner (Will Smith) who loses everything, but eventually gets everything with his unending courage, perseverance, and faith.

Lessons to Learn

After putting your best of the efforts you do get the best of the results. Towards the end of the movie, you see that after all the hard work Chris Gardner is left with nothing – no money, no other place to go but he doesn’t loose his cool. He patiently waits with all his faith. Then, at the end, he does get what he deserved. He gets the job among the 20 other interns, and all his problems end. Things are not easy always, sometimes life tests you but always remember, when you walk up a mountain, your legs only become stronger. And when you earn the position with your hard work and determination  – that part of your life is what is called Happiness.

Wake Up Sid

A spoiled, careless rich young adult, Siddharth Mehra (Ranbir Kapoor) – a college student who is taught the value of life and responsibilities by Aisha (Konkona Sen Sharma), an aspiring writer from Calcutta.

Lessons to Learn

Sometimes in life, it may seem that there is nothing that makes you feel passionate but there is always something, you just need to look for it hard enough. And once you know it, who knows you can be the next Photographer from Mumbai Beats!

Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year

We Bought a Zoo

Harpreet Singh Bedi (Ranbir Kapoor) just graduated, and his marks are, well, let’s say a little embarrassing. But marks never stopped him from dreaming of an exciting and adventurous career.

Lessons to Learn

You must always keep your eyes and ears open to scan the information regarding prospects, competition and the market influencers. In the game of business, right information at the right time gives you ‘unfair’ advantage. Be the corporate Sherlock Holmes, ALWAYS.

So, while you gear up for your upcoming Summer Internship, watch these movies to give you that motivational kick. And, if you haven’t bagged one already check out our website for some amazing summer internships that we have for you.
