Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi recently concluded their annual management and cultural fest, Quo Vadis 2016 from 22-24 Jan, 2016. Literally meaning “Where are you headed?”, Quo Vadis this time saw North India’s most prestigious B School Fest go places. Centered around the theme of “Enabling India Digitally”, IIFT hosted 7 management events viz. Markician (Marketing Case Study Competition), Vriddhan (Finance Case Study Competition), Samahva (E-commerce B-Plan Competition), Eternity’s Call (The Consulting and Strategy Competition), Kratos (A Simulation Game Challenge), Cognoscentia (The Business Technology Quiz) and the Shastra (The Flagship Event) with prizes worth more than 3 Lakhs and for the first time, cash prizes were given on the spot.
The flagship management event Shastra, saw participation from very select B Schools on an invite only basis, with 72 hours of gruelling events leading to a grand prize of Rs. 50,000. Quo Vadis ’16 was grander than ever, seeing a footfall of over 5000 people drawn to the heart of South Delhi.
In the 3 days, span IIFT saw 10 cultural and 2 night events. Nukkad Natak (theme road safety) event saw participation from more than 25 teams across India with more than 400 participants in total on campus.
The students of IIFT also played host to many exciting startups on campus, creating the perfect entrepreneurial melting point, with mentors, VCs, angel investors. Keynote address was given by Jaspreet Bindra (SVP-Digital Innovation and E-Commerce-Mahindra Group) and Annurag Batra (Chairman and Editor-In-Chief BW Businessworld) for IIFT’s flagship startup summit Genesis 2.0.
Quo Vadis ’16 was also a cultural smorgasbord, drawing students from colleges across NCR. The fest saw some of India’s most exciting music artistes playing each of the 3 days, captivating the audiences in an exclusive & intimate setting on the IIFT grounds. 22nd opened with Battle of Bands, which sent audience in a frenzy of excitement with 6 shortlisted bands performing in front of an esteemed jury. The day culminated in a spell binding concert by The Local Train, that had the crowd swaying to their songs.
23rd January took this spirit of fervor further, with Hip Hop International regionals seeing some of India’s best dance crews fight it out to win over the audience, and a ticket to the World Championships in San Diego, California.
As the perfect follow up, IIFT hosted the sensational Singer and Musician Amit Trivedi performing on Star night, who played hit after hit, until the crowd went ecstatic, winning over the duo with their boundless energy and enthusiasm.
The morning of 24th January was welcomed with dhols, drum and a acappella, with 6 of the best collegiate teams from Delhi presenting their Nukkad Nataks (finals), moving the audience with their raw emotions, and bold voices. For the first time finals of Nukkad Natak event was live streamed on IIFT’s official YouTube channel.
The afternoon was set ablaze with 12 fashion crews walking the ramp, with Femina Miss India 2014, Koyal Rana and Mr. India 2015, Sagar Gera.
Later night comedian Kanan Gill and Kishore Dayani humored IIFT audience with their witty talks.
