About Company

Though India has succeeded in getting 97% of the children into schools, there are 250 million children who are still suffering from serious learning deficiencies due to lack of quality education. In fact, 70 million children lack a proper learning environment before joining school. Absence of preschool education leads to children enrolling in primary schools without the requisite learning and skills & lack of formal after-school support to improve learning levels leads to 40% dropouts by Age 12. Similarly, India has a poor track record on women’s empowerment and gender equality. Getting more young rural women to work in jobs that don’t involve wage labor & farm activities will be the next step for improving the country’s economic health.

TatvaGyan provides high-quality, affordable early childhood and remedial education support in rural India. We help children of low-income communities get a good foundation in early learning as well as achieve the minimum benchmarks for learning by establishing and operating a lean chain of quality-driven affordable learning hubs called ‘ThinkZone’ which are managed by local women. We implement scalable technology-driven educational solutions while simultaneously creating women changemakers and leaders in local communities by providing them with dignified white-collar livelihoods.

Our work has already been identified in the impact space by leading players such as Intellecap, Villgro and Unitus Seed Fund who have selected TatvaGyan as as a high-potential, early stage social enterprise(2014) , the most promising Odisha-based social enterprise(2015) and one of the top ten emerging education enterprises(2015) respectively. We are a part of the GSBI - USA global cohort of emerging social enterprises for 2016 and are also a Level 2 investee of UnLtd India(Delhi). TatvaGyan was very recently showcased on CNBC recently as a part of the Tata Social Enterprise Challenge at IIM Calcutta.
