Given that there are so many top ranked colleges, we’re covering some prominent ones below. The list is in coherence with NIRF list of top colleges- 2017. 


1. PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore

Ranked 33 in the NIRF 2017 list, PSG College of Technology is affiliated with Anna University. Its programs are recognised in India and abroad. The college has strong international ties. Each department conduct at least one conference/seminar/workshop on a national or even international level. Faculty and student exchanges happen regularly. Ranked 37 in the NIRF list 2017, Thiagarajar College of Engineering is a top institution affiliated with Anna University. It was established in the year 1957. TCE is funded by Central & State Governments and Management. The courses offered in TCE are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi.

The College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG) in Chennai, India, is the main campus of Anna University. Amrita School of Engineering is a part of Amrita University. The college only started in 1994, and it is already one of the top engineering colleges in India. The campus focuses on eco-friendly and conservation practices.

6. VIT University, Vellore

VIT University is ranked 13 in the NIRF list 2017. Vellore draws students from over 50 countries. Its programs are accredited by the Institute of Engineers in India. Selected engineering programs are also accredited by Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology from the US.

7. International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B)

IIIT-B offers only postgraduate degrees – including Integrated M. Tech, M. Tech., M.S. (Research), and Ph. D. programs. Located in Electronics City in Bangalore, students enjoy a close proximity to top electronics and IT corporations like Infosys, Wipro, HP, and General Electrics. Only 150 students out of 5000 are accepted every year.

First class degree holders in 3-year undergraduate programmes followed by MSc with first class in any of the physical sciences, or an MCA degree with first class, can also apply. In 2013, admission offers were made upto GATE score of 535.

8. Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal

Established in 1957 in Manipal, Karnataka, India, MIT is one of the first self-financed colleges in India. Undergraduate students are guaranteed four-year housing in one of MIT’s twenty-one hostel buildings. Manipal University strive to set benchmarks for good environmental management.
