Campus placements are akin with tough times for most of us, and different people seek out different ways to deal with them.
“When you are a 6-pointer and competing with best of the best minds of the country, you know how hard it is to land a job. You start doing some crazy and random stuff to stand out from the crowd. This is my resume for Flipkart‘s Assistant Product Manager profile,” Akash Neeraj Mittal, a fourth year UG student from IIT-KGP, says on his Facebook.
Driven by the fact that Flipkart was looking only for people with a 7.5+ CGPA, which he did not qualify for, Akash took to Photoshop and came out 70 hours later with a creative resume, that is modeled after the product page of the e-commerce website.
“They wanted someone who could sell a product. I sold myself to them,” he explains. Akash who originally hails from Moradabad, completed his schooling from New Delhi. He also authored ‘It Wasn’t Her Fault’ that was self-published in 2015.
So far, he hasn’t heard back from Flipkart for an interview call.
This is also not the first time that a candidate has taken a slightly different approach to get their CV noticed by a company.
