1. Summer Research Internships (Electrical and Computer Engineering) – Carnegie Mellon University
Location: Pennsylvania, United States.

You will also be asked to choose fields of study within the ECE discipline. If you are submitting a general application for a non-specific position, you will be paired with a professor who is doing research in your chosen field.

Research intern students will work alongside CMU ECE faculty and graduate students in projects in the Electrical and Computer Engineering fields.

Recommendation letters from professionals familiar with your work are an important factor in our selection process. They are strongly encouraged. They are especially valuable for students outside of CMU. You can provide up to 2 references through the online application form.

2. Photography Intern – Business Insider
Location: Manhattan, NYC
Duration: The internship term runs for approximately six months, with some flexibility on start and end dates.

Business Insider is looking for an intern to join their Visual Features team. If you love telling stories through images and are obsessed with both photography and writing about photography, then this internship is for you.

The Visual Features Intern will work with the Visual Features Editor and other reporters on the team to source photo series to feature on Business Insider from photographers and agencies, as well as pitch, photograph, and write their own visual stories and slideshows.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for all things photography, strong writing skills, and a knack for taking photos.

3. Taiwan International Graduate Program – Academia Sinica
Location: Taiwan or Partner University
Duration: 2 months between May and August 2015.
Stipend: TIGP and the hosting PI will together offer NTD 30,000/month-tax free (~ USD 1000) for two months. (TIGP will provide a monthly stipend of NTD 20,000/months and the sponsoring faculty will provide additional monthly stipend of NTD 10,000/ month). In addition, half of the one way airfare at economy class will be provided to participating interns upon completion of the training program.

The TIGP-IIP welcomes applications from overseas candidates of the following status:
– Undergraduate students who will have been conferred a BE/B.Tech/B.Sc/BS degree by August 2016.
– Students pursuing a Master’s degree and holding a degree. Individuals holding a Bachelor or Master’s degree (student’s pursuing a PhD degree are not eligible for this category).

Research Projects:

The Academia Sinica headquartered in the Nangang District of Taipei, is the national academy of Taiwan that supports research activities in a wide variety of disciplines, ranging from mathematical and physical sciences, to life sciences, and to humanities and social sciences.They envisioned a program through which young scholars could start their research/academic career in the best possible environment and be transformed into future leaders.

4. ITRI Taiwan internship program – Industrial Technology Research Institute(ITRI)
Location: Taiwan
Duration: The interns should be available to work for at least 10 weeks in the period from May to September. Longer internships are also possible; dates can be flexible depending on student and department needs.

  • Monthly stipend (before taxes): NT$24,000 – NT$36,000 per month, depending on student’s experience and department’s situation; if you are offered a position, the offer will specify the stipend and other details.
  • Free on-site accommodation on ITRI campus – modern dormitories on a spacious campus with dining and recreational facilities.

However the interns are responsible for their travel expenses to and from ITRI’s Taiwan campus.
